Coconut Creek

Coconut Creek, the “Butterfly Capital of the World” is located in Broward County, South Florida, nestled between Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties. Coconut Creek is widely recognized as a well-planned community with a unique environmental consciousness touting an abundance of trees, waterways, attractive landscaped roads, beautiful parks, and butterfly gardens throughout our neighborhoods. This is due to the City's progressive planning approach to creating a unique lifestyle for residents and businesses.

The City’s Mainstreet Project, home to the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek and the Coconut Creek Promenade, a 23-acre, open-air, upscale shopping and restaurant center, has received the “Award of Excellence” for its Design Standards by the Florida Chapter of the American Planning Association (FAPA).  When complete, the City’s MainStreet area will be bustling with over 250 acres of LEED-certified businesses, upscale housing, and beautifully landscaped parks and greenways.

Coconut Creek has been highly recognized for its "green" initiatives, receiving numerous awards: Emerald Award for environmental preservation leadership; named as the State's first "Community Wildlife Habitat"; 20th Tree City USA designation by Arbor Day Foundation; Audubon Green Community Award; and winner of South Florida's Mayor's Water Conservation Challenge.
