Pompano Beach
Pompano Beach is located in northeast Broward County, Florida, along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean just to the north of Fort Lauderdale. Centrally located in Florida's famous Gold Coast, Pompano Beach covers over 25 square miles, including 3.5 miles of beachfront, and is the year round home to over 112,000 residents which increases to over 150,000 during its peak season.
The City of Pompano was incorporated as a town in 1908, and merged with the newly-incorporated municipality on the beach in 1947 to become the City of Pompano Beach.
Pompano Beach is currently redeveloping its two Community Redevelopment Areas (CRA), which is sure to reinvent the City. The City has also been listed as one of the top real estate markets being featured in CNN, Money and the Wall Street Journal as one of the country's top vacation home markets. In 2005, Pompano Beach was honored to receive the nation's most prestigious civic award, The All America City Award, which encourages and recognizes civic excellence.
