Miami Dade College's The Idea Center and LaunchCode to Host Reception Announcing Kick-off of Apprenticeship Applications, Computer Science Course

Miami, Feb. 18, 2015 – The Idea Center at Miami Dade College and LaunchCode, a tech-employment non-profit co-founded by Square's Jim McKelvey, will be hosting a reception from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, at the Wolfson Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

During the event, LaunchCode will announce the opening of the application process for its apprenticeship program, which includes many South Florida companies such as Univision, Fusion, Miami Children’s Hospital, Burger King, Rokk3r Labs, and República. Students are encouraged to submit their applications by April 1, to ensure consideration for the first round of apprenticeship placements.

The Idea Center at Miami Dade College will also introduce students from its first Introduction to Programming cohort, which kicks off the day before. 

The Idea Center and LaunchCode are both supported by The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
