Port Everglades Secures Grant Money From Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
Fort Lauderdale, Florida – U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-23) will join Port Everglades and Broward County officials to announce a $19 million Port Infrastructure Development Program grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation. The funding comes from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
The Port’s Berths Modernization Project (Berths 16, 17, 18) will provide bulkhead replacements that will allow the berths to operate safely and more efficiently for the next 75 years of service. Currently, Berths 16, 17, and 18, along with the adjacent Cruise Terminal 18, are the only berths that can accommodate Royal Caribbean’s Oasis and Quantum classes of ships, the largest and most innovative cruise ships in the world. Additionally, these berths also handle containerized and bulk cargo ships when the berths are available.
