Originally established in 1992 as the African-American Achievers Awards, the program was the vision of JM Family Enterprises’ founder and automotive legend Jim Moran. Since then, 185 honorees have been recognized across four categories: Arts & Culture, Business & Entrepreneurism, Community Service, and Education. The Black Achievers Awards has contributed more than $750,000 in donations to various nonprofit organizations on the honorees’ behalf. |

The evening also celebrates the Jerome Edmund Gray Youth Achiever, awarded in partnership with Florida State University (FSU) to recognize an exceptional South Florida high school senior who has excelled academically. The Youth Achiever receives a four-year, needs-based scholarship to FSU. |
