Ahoy Mateys. Ready ye sea legs for a swashbuckling good time during the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s 20th Anniversary of the Leadership Broward Foundation, Inc. Fun Lunch on Wednesday, April 30 from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Themed Pirates in Paradise, the annual Fun Lunch will see this year’s six honorees “walk the plank” as they are recognized for their contributions to the community. This year’s “Treasures of Broward” are: Mary Harris of BankUnited; Penelope Blair of U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management; Clinton Perkins of Broward Health; Marty Shuham of Shuham & Shuham, P.A.; Kenny Stiles of Stiles Corporation; and Pablo Urquilla of BB&T Center.

Co-chairs for the Fun Lunch are Jen Klaassens, Ginny Miller, Susan Renneisen and Lisa Scott Founds.

“The Fun Lunch is a spirited, lively recognition of some of our community’s unsung leaders,” said Laurie Sallarulo, CEO of Leadership Broward Foundation, Inc. “It’s obviously meant to be fun, with comical tongue in cheek moments, and we hope creates a lasting memory for them. We are really thrilled this year to have some fantastic prizes to raffle off as well.”

Two incredible treasure chest prizes will be offered during the raffle. They include a five day/four night stay in a Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana, Mexico, with room, food and beverage and a beautiful diamond necklace courtesy of Altieri Jewelers.  Keys can be purchased for $50 to open one of the treasure chests. Only 50 tickets per treasure chest will be sold. In addition, attendees can participate in the Fun Lunch’s signature balloon raffle. Tickets are $20 per balloon and come with a guarantee to win a prize valued at $20 or more. Only 200 balloons will be sold.

The Fun Lunch honors Leadership Broward alumni and members for their commitment to the organization and the community. Individuals are nominated by fellow LB alumni and honorees are determined by a selection committee made up of community leaders.  

Tickets are $65 for Leadership Broward Foundation members, $75 for non-members and $45 for Emerge Broward members.
