On Friday, March 5th join us as we kick off our Annual Day of Caring - virtually - while working together to impact our neighbors in need.

EVENT DETAILS

Join us LIVE via Zoom at 10AM for the Official Kickoff 
Prizes will be given away during the event!

1. CREATE A SHOEBOX

Step 1: You can provide essential daily items to a man, woman or child in need. Decorate a shoebox and fill it with toiletries, such as: 

  • travel-size shampoo
  • deodorant
  • travel-size soap
  • toothbrush and toothpaste
  • travel-size lotion
  • hair comb/brush
  • sunblock
  • lip balm
  • adhesive bandages
  • hand towels 
  • antibiotic ointment
  • socks 
  • tampons
  • panty liners
  • travel-size water bottles
  • rain ponchos
  • resealable zipper storage bags
  • prepaid phone cards
  • pens
  • journal
  • rag

We cannot accept medicine, food, sewing kits, used or opened items.

Step 2: Wrap Your Shoebox
IMG_0536.JPGHave fun and be creative! Those who will receive the box will feel like they are receiving a special gift. 

Step 3: Write a Note of Encouragement
Those who are receiving the boxes are going through a difficult time, provide a note with words of encouragement that will brighten their day. 

Step 4: Take Pictures with Your Box & Win a Prize
Share them with us on social media by tagging us Facebook/Twitter @unitedwaybc and Instagram @unitedwayofbroward
Your tagged box will be voted on by a team of United Way of Broward County volunteers. The winning box will receive a prize!

  • Pasta
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Macaroni & Cheese
  • Condiments

  • Dish Detergent
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly

3. ADVOCACY
