While the COVID-19 pandemic has dominated our lives for the past year and a half, the opioid epidemic has been surging – exacerbated by the stress of job loss, threat of evictions and the consequences of stay-at-home policies. According to the Department of Health, in 2019, Fentanyl Overdoses increased by almost 52% in Broward County.

Please join the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, in partnership with the Florida Blue Foundation and Project Opioid Florida as we officially launch Project Opioid Broward to educate business, faith, and community leaders on how they can help save the greatest number of lives by building a coalition, creating a regional overdose initiative, and promoting high-level advocacy.

Topics to Be Covered:

  • Latest data on Broward overdoses.
  • Importance of statewide initiative.
  • How does opioid addiction fit into the bigger mental health story?
  • How does this relate to workforce and community health problems affecting companies and why should they care?
  • What do companies need to know about current strengths and weaknesses regarding treatment access in insured and uninsured populations relevant to their business?
  • Why should the business community be involved?
  • What can we do to help?
