Broward County Transit
Transportation
Broward County Transit (also known as BCT) is the public transit agency in Broward County, Florida. It is the second-largest transit system in Florida after Miami-Dade Transit. It currently operates the only public bus system in Broward County. Besides serving Broward County, It also serves portions of Palm Beach County and Miami-Dade County, where it overlaps its service with Miami-Dade Transit and Palm Tran. The Broward County Transit system has among the highest ridership per capita as well as the lowest cost per passenger of metropolitan transit systems in the U.S. This system's ability to minimize transit travel time has been most effective in producing such high performances. Implemented bus-priority strategies have had an overall minimal effect on traffic, aiding in the overall minimized travel time. Reports have shown how traffic has experienced an improved traffic flow since such bus strategies have been implemented.

The Broward MPO is a transportation policy-making board comprised 38 members, including 25 voting members from municipalities across Broward, representatives from the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority/Tri-Rail (SFRTA), the Broward County School Board, and three Broward County Commissioners. There are an additional 19 Alternate members of the board, who have voting rights when others are absent. The MPO is responsible for transportation planning and funding allocation in Broward County. The Broward MPO works with the public, planning organizations, government agencies, elected officials and community groups to develop transportation plans.

The Broward Workshop is a private, non-profit, non-partisan business organization comprised of the chief decision makers representing 100 of Broward County's business and professions seeking to facilitate solutions to our most critical issues.
The Broward Workshop membership reaches out to foster cooperation between the private and public sectors as well as all socio-economic and political lines. They seek alliances to make a difference in the key areas that are important to all of our residents and businesses.
Our members are diverse. They are a cross-section of leaders who span the four corners of the county and bring varied backgrounds, political affiliations, and points of view.
