The Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance (the Alliance) owes its greatest accomplishments to the talent and expertise of its members and partners. Ideas shared through their productive collaboration result in new programs and missions that create jobs and capital investment; harness more resources and assistance for Greater Fort Lauderdale-based companies; foster quality education and workforce development; and address other community opportunities and challenges.
At the Alliance our success is driven by task-oriented, industry-driven Councils. These Councils are led by industry leaders whose knowledge, expertise and leadership significantly contribute to the Alliance's ability to define and execute short- and long-term strategies that maximize Greater Fort Lauderdale's economic potential.

CEO Council
The CEO Council's role is to market and promote Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County brand as a premier location for corporate headquarters and international regional headquarters. The CEO Council also is involved with monitoring the area’s national external rankings/perceptions compared to its primary competitors to ensure continued favorability as a business location. The CEO Council is comprised of Broward County and South Florida's top market CEOs investing in the work of economic development through the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance.

Governor Council
The Governor Council role is to deliver an unbiased assessment and evaluation of Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County's economic strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats on a sustainable basis and within a regional context to ensure the Alliance - its members, partners, stakeholders and staff - are equipped with the market intelligence required to drive action-oriented behaviors. Additionally, the Governor Council is focused on education and workforce issues.

The Leadership Council is comprised of top public and private sector leaders including our next generation of leaders.

The Corporate Council's role is to be the primary resource of intelligence related to the current and ongoing health, prosperity and maturation of established and emerging industry clusters in Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County. This includes alternative energy, aviation and marine, business/financial services and headquarters, creative industries, healthcare technologies/life sciences, information technology and international commerce.
Following is a brief summary of the Corporate Council and its leadership role in economic development in Broward County:

The Entrepreneurship Council's role is to market, promote, grow, expand and accelerate the success of entrepreneurs in Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County with a focus on those in our established and emerging clusters. This group works to provide informative and useful information that will help companies in Broward grow to second stage and beyond.
Following is a brief summary of the Entrepreneur Council and its leadership role in economic development in Broward County:

Partner Council
The Partner Council role is to to bring together the best and brightest economic development minds to work on common initiatives, leverage resources and share market intelligence in order to sustain a strong and responsive economic development system in Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County. Members of the Partner Council include representatives from Broward County and its municipalities, chambers of commerce, redevelopment agencies and local business assistance organizations.
Following is a brief summary of the Partner Council and its leadership role in economic development in Broward County:
Focus: Economic Development Systems
Leadership Engagement: Municipalities; Chambers of Commerce; Business Development Groups; Redevelopment Agencies; Downtown Authorities; Local, Regional and State Economic Development Partners
Outcomes: Enhanced Market Reputation for Business Readiness
The Partner Council generally meets on the second Thursday of the month (except July). Meetings are subject to change with notice. Please confirm dates.
