District High School Students Collect 11 Silver Knight Honors, 41 Awards Overall
Broward County Public Schools high school students collected 11 of the county's 15 Silver Knight Awards, presented by the Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald, at an event held Tuesday, May 19 at the James L. Knight Center in Miami. The Silver Knight winners demonstrated both excellence in academics and contributions to the community.
District students also earned 30 of 45 Honorable Mention recognitions, claiming 41 of 60 awards overall (68%). Last year, District students earned top recognition in 10 Silver Knight categories and received 30 Honorable Mention honors. Over the past four years, District students have combined to win 42 Silver Knight Awards and 122 Honorable Mentions.

The top winners each received a Silver Knight Award, a medallion and a cash award. The Honorable Mention winners collected engraved plaques and cash awards. The Silver Knights program began in Broward County in 1984.
