Prolexic Technologies Announces Relocation and Expansion of Global Headquarters and IT Operations Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida that Will Add New Jobs and Capital Investment

Prolexic Technologies, the global leader in Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) protection services, announced today the relocation and expansion of its Global Corporate Headquarters and 24x7 Security Operations Center to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Officials from the company and its location advisory consultants Mitchell Millowitz, Bradley Migdal, and Bradley Griggs of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank worked closely with the office of Florida Governor Rick Scott, Enterprise Florida, the City of Fort Lauderdale, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance CEO Council, Florida Power & Light’s Department of Economic Development, Workforce Florida and Workforce One/Broward County  to craft state and local incentives that will result in the addition of 118 new jobs at an average salary of approximately $100,000 along with retaining 120 existing Florida jobs.  The company will invest $1.16 million in capital and relocate its headquarters to downtown Fort Lauderdale where it will lease approximately 35,000 square feet of space at the New River Center office building located at 200 East Las Olas. The state and local incentives from Florida and the City of Fort Lauderdale total $1,589,300 and consists of $826,000 from the Qualified Target Industries Tax Refund Program along with $125,000 from the Governor’s Quick Action Closing Fund and $125,000 in a Direct Cash Incentive from the City of Fort Lauderdale for the hiring of Fort Lauderdale residents.  In addition, Workforce Florida, Inc. will provide up to $380,800 for customized training of new and retained employees through the Quick Response Training Program, and WorkForce One of Broward County will provide an additional $132,500 for local recruitment assistance programs and services.

Florida Governor Rick Scott said, “Today’s news that Prolexic is creating 118 new jobs in Fort Lauderdale is a great win for Florida families.  Today, we announced that Florida’s unemployment rate dropped to 6.7%, and with more than 440,000 private-sector jobs created since I took office, it’s clear our efforts are working.  While this is great news, we’ll continue working hard to create a state with dynamic, growing industries that will create jobs and careers for generations to come.”

FPL will support the project by offering backup generation services which will include evaluating the needs of the company, making recommendations and building the system.  “It’s extremely rewarding to see our everyday commitment to delivering highly reliable electricity at competitive rates provide our state an advantage in attracting and retaining companies that create high-quality jobs for Floridians, “ said Eric Silagy, President of Florida Power and Light.
