TALLAHASSEE, FL (April 3, 2014) – Florida Secretary of Commerce and Enterprise Florida (EFI) president and CEO, Gray Swoope, announced that EFI will lead a delegation of six Florida small businesses and organizations to Expo Seguridad in Mexico from April 8-10. The exhibition is the largest in Mexico and draws attendance from nearly 30 countries.

Secretary Swoope said, “We are excited to have six Florida homeland security companies participate with us at Expo Seguridad. This trip is a cost-effective opportunity for them to promote their products internationally and, through our collaborative efforts, these companies will be able to grow and create new jobs in Florida.”

Expo Seguridad is a homeland security exhibition that offers top security companies a unique opportunity to demonstrate their competitive advantages in key targeted markets. The show had more than 12,500 attendees in 2012. More than 61 percent of the visitors are presidents/CEO’s, directors, managers or department supervisors in their organizations.

EFI’s presence in the U.S. Pavilion will allow the six Florida companies to cost-effectively exhibit their products. Of the companies attending, four were awarded a Target Sector Trade Grant. Without the assistance of EFI’s International Trade and Development efforts, many of the companies would not be able to attend or be as successful and efficient in reaching such a large audience.
