As communities around the nation continually seek to attract young talent, and knowing that a visit is the first step for many in choosing a place to live, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Broward County’s official public/private partnership for economic development, has launched a new talent attraction campaign during Spring Break 2019 titled “Live Where You Vacation.™
“Talent is the new currency of economic development,” said Bob Swindell, President & CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance. “Economic developers across the country are aggressively trying to reach and attract young Millennials and Gen Z to their communities, while college students from around the nation are coming here in droves for Spring Break. It only makes sense to reach out and entice the best and brightest to make Greater Fort Lauderdale their home.”
A national 2019 study by AAA ranked Fort Lauderdale as the second most popular destination for spring break vacations. As the Live Where You Vacation™ campaign’s first foray, the Alliance partnered with Entercom South Florida on a radio commercial which will play on 104.3 The Shark throughout March 2019, directing spring breakers to visit www.LiveWhereYouVacation.org to learn about career opportunities and lifestyle amenities in Greater Fort Lauderdale.
The Alliance plans to build out the campaign in the future, adding several additional components in preparation for the 2020 Spring Break season.
