FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (September 12, 2019) - Encompass Onsite, the leading provider of end-to-end facility management solutions, today announced that CEO Marcell Haywood has been handpicked to join a delegation of the state’s top entrepreneurs and executives with a mission to strengthen the economic bonds between Florida and Israel through technology and entrepreneurship. The visit will take place September 20-27.
The 15-person trade delegation will visit Tel Aviv and Jerusalem where they will meet with technology, business and political leaders to exchange ideas, share resources and build partnerships to further collaboration, leverage technology and advance the economic relationship between Florida and Israel. This select group represents Florida’s top business and tech leaders poised to learn how the state can leverage and build upon Israel’s cutting-edge technology. The region has the highest number of high-tech companies and start-ups per capita in the world, most based in Tel Aviv. US-based businesses like Apple, GE, IBM, HP and more than 350 others have acquired Israeli startups, purchased or licensed Israeli technologies, or established Israel-based R&D facilities. The region not only has the potential to boost business, but its technology is also relevant for critical issues facing the state, such as red tide and algae blooms.
Broward County’s Marcell Haywood was selected to be a part of the delegation given his success as an entrepreneur and leader in the enterprise software and services industry. Haywood launched Fort Lauderdale-based Encompass Onsite with just $300 while in college, growing the company to become the leading provider of facilities maintenance and management services for more than 3,000 customer locations, including Apple, Walgreens, University of Miami and Qatar Airways. The company has been lauded for its fast growth and socially responsible actions, along with leveraging technology to bring transparency to business.
“Governor DeSantis has set the tone for Florida with his ongoing commitment to being the most pro-Israel governor in America,” said Haywood. “As leaders in business and entrepreneurship, our countries have a lot to offer each other. Science and technology in Israel is one of the country’s most developed sectors, spending more than 4 percent of its GDP on R&D, the highest ratio in the world. As we look to innovate in the coming decades, there is a lot we can learn from our Israeli counterparts. I’m honored to join the delegation and excited to exchange ideas and share experiences with some of the brightest minds in the world.”
Trade missions provide a unique opportunity to promote Florida’s business advantages, assist exporters in meeting clients, and identify and attract foreign direct investment. The trip follows Governor DeSantis’ first business development mission to Israel in May and is the latest in Florida’s deep and ongoing partnership with the region.
