As Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) prepares to begin classes on Wednesday, August 19, through eLearning, the District knows parents have many questions about the new school year.
To provide answers, the Parent Community Involvement Task Force and District staff are launching Parent University: Getting Ready for School and eLearning webinar sessions. The four live virtual events, which take place August 12-17, are divided into student groups. The two main sessions – for elementary school students on August 12, and for middle and high school students on August 13 – will include step-by-step guidance to help parents assist their students through the school day and information on what to expect once classes begin. There are two additional webinars – one for Exceptional Student Education (ESE) parents on Friday, August 14, and one for parents of English-Language Learners (ELL) on Monday, August 17 – to provide additional information specific to these two groups of students.
District personnel will be available after each presentation to answer questions. All four webinars will be available in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian-Creole, Arabic, Chinese and Vietnamese through closed captioning.
Parents will choose to attend the grade-level session that applies to their student(s) through the links below, which can also be found on the District website, browardschools.com.
