Beginning in July, the Schmidt College of Science Pre-Health Professions Office is providing a greater presence on the Davie campus. The Pre-Health team will be working closely with Undergraduate Admissions to develop science pathways to pre-health degree programs, providing more offerings for different majors on the campus, and will support those efforts with additional advisors. The Davie Pre-Health Professions team includes Gina Jones, Pre-Health Advising Director, and advisors Ana Botero and Versel Reid.
The Senior Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies, Evonne Rezler, Ph.D., states, “As we embark on this journey of further developing offerings and support on FAU’s Davie campus for Pre-Health students, this brings opportunities for greater collaboration between the University and business, a bolstering of faculty supported student research, and the development of a science pathway program for those not yet admitted to FAU. This pathways program would allow Broward College students to earn a two-year degree to make a seamless transition to FAU while being assisted by our Pre-Health team.”
Teresa Wilcox, Ph.D., the interim dean of the Schmidt College of Science, states, “I am excited to share that we are strengthening our presence on FAU’s Davie Campus. Ensuring student success and interdisciplinary collaboration are integral to the college's mission and strategic plan. Students will benefit from increased advising availability and expanded opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research taking place across the Davie campus. This will be led by Gina Jones and her team at the College of Science. The college has identified an outstanding group of advisors that will not only enhance our presence on the Davie Campus but throughout the surrounding Broward community.”
