Six Pillars Broward Relaunches as The Prosperity Partnership; Announces Initiatives and Leadership and Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Memorandum of Understanding

  

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – April 14, 2021 – Today in a virtual event attended by nearly three hundred community leaders, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance Foundation debuted its rebranded community collective impact initiative, The Prosperity Partnership.

Beginning in 2011, the community strategic plan was known as Six Pillars Broward and followed the Six Pillars framework developed by the Florida Chamber Foundation. The Prosperity Partnership expands its focus from six areas to eleven: Target Industry Growth, Education, Talent Attraction & Retention, Community Branding, Social Justice & Racial Equity, Economic Mobility (Prosperity Broward), Entrepreneurship, Transportation, Resiliency, Affordable Housing and Homelessness. The new brand, name, logos and icons for each of the focus areas was developed through a creative process led by Starmark International.

The Prosperity Partnership is co-chaired by Kathleen Cannon, President & CEO of the United Way of Broward County, Tony Coley, Regional President for South Florida at Truist and Juliet M. Roulhac, Director of Corporate External Affairs for FPL. Community leaders and subject-matter experts co-chairing the eleven initiatives are:

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and The Prosperity Partnership also announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding Prosperity Broward, the economic mobility focus area of the Prosperity Partnership. The memorandum, which was signed on April 7, focuses on expanding economic mobility in areas within Broward County.

The MOU outlines a commitment by the Atlanta Fed’s Community and Economic Development (CED) team and the Prosperity Broward team to work together to build, launch, and support the initiative. With the assistance of the Atlanta Fed’s CED team, Prosperity Broward plans to qualitatively and quantitatively measure data showcasing the impact the initiative is having in communities that have experienced
