Future Tech Enterprise chooses Fort Lauderdale for executive headquarters

A global information technology provider will move its executive headquarters to Fort Lauderdale from New York in a bid to grow its South Florida market share.

Future Tech Enterprise will occupy the top floor of the Broward Financial Center at 500 E. Broward Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale, the company announced Wednesday.

The executive headquarters will be home to Future Tech's administrative, customer engagement, marketing, sales and tech support operations and will be a base for executive meetings. The company plans to create 25 jobs at the Fort Lauderdale location.

Future Tech president and CEO Bob Venero said the migration of new tech companies to South Florida encouraged the IT solutions provider to establish an office in the region.

”The collaborative efforts between government, business leaders, and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance have made this area a prime target for where businesses want to operate,” Venero said.

The company made the move with the assistance of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Broward County's economic development partner.

Broward County is already home to some of South Florida's largest tech companies, including Magic Leap, Ultimate Software (now Ultimate Kronos Group) and pet e-commerce giant Chewy (NYSE: CHWY).

Tech firms continue to the eye the region for office space as they grow their local presence.

Memic Innovative Surgery, a robotic surgery company, recently opened a new Fort Lauderdale facility after raising $100 million from investors. It's one of dozens of companies that have set up new offices in the tri-county area over the past year.

The Covid-19 pandemic accelerated investor and residential migration to a handful of Sun Belt metros, including South Florida, according to an analysis from JLL. Residents are drawn to the lower cost of living compared to traditional "gateway markets" like New York and San Francisco, fueling domestic and international investment.

“Future Tech’s decision to expand to Fort Lauderdale, adding high-value jobs in our community, is another example of companies choosing to create opportunities and invest here in Broward," said Broward County Mayor Steve Geller.

Future Tech has offices across the U.S., including a corporate headquarters in Holbrook, New York. The company reports it serves customers in 170 countries from its hubs in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia.
