Greater Fort Lauderdale Named #2 Best Business Climate in Nation by Business Facilities Magazine
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Greater Fort Lauderdale/ Broward County has been ranked #2 Best Business Climate (mid-sized metro) in Business Facilities magazine’s 17th Annual Rankings Report. This is second only to Arlington, Virginia the site of Amazon’s second headquarters. Additionally, Broward County’s Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) ranked #7 in the nation for exports. Greater Fort Lauderdale was the only location in Florida to rank on any of the top 10 Business Climate rankings for any size community.
“Company headquarters and businesses in tech, aviation, life sciences and the marine industries continue to choose to locate and grow in Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County. Our community’s ranking on the Business Facilities list is further validation of our efforts to attract high-wage jobs,” said Broward County Mayor Steven Geller.
“Greater Fort Lauderdale’s ranking on the Business Facilities report reinforces the work our community has done for years to nurture a business-friendly environment where companies of all sizes can succeed,” said Bob Swindell, President & CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance.
Florida also ranked highly in several statewide rankings in the report, including: fourth best business tax climate, ninth fastest growing state, eighth best business climate, sixth best in aerospace/defense, eighth in customized training, ninth in biotechnology, fourth in installed solar power capacity, second in solar power capacity, fifth in foreign direct investment (FDI) projects and seventh in FDI capital investment.
