ICON International Expands into Downtown Fort Lauderdale

ICON International, a corporate barter firm, has expanded into new office space at 301 East Las Olas Boulevard, occupying the third and eighth floors of the building with a total of 23,589 square feet. ICON International is headquartered in Greenwich, Conn. with a rapidly growing office in Fort Lauderdale. The Fort Lauderdale office has 54 full-time employees and can accommodate up to 129 in its new space which will be fully occupied by the end of 2023. ICON is actively expanding its workforce down in the South Florida Market.

ICON International first worked with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Broward County’s official public/private partnership for economic development in 2019, when the company was looking to expand into South Florida with its initial Fort Lauderdale office, and again for its recent expansion on Las Olas. The timing of entering the market, prior to the onset of the pandemic, has aided the company in recruitment of young professional talent, while providing job opportunities in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area.

“Growth demands a rich workforce pool, and a smart company wants to be an employer of choice. Our employees are our greatest asset,”  said Richard Upton, Executive Vice President of Operations at ICON International. He said the company was looking to capitalize in an area where there was growth in the marketplace as well as year-round quality of life for their employees.

The fact that they have worked with many of the Fortune 500 companies by providing full economic value for distressed assets or funding of corporate expenditures, and with their comprehensive media buying capabilities, ICON International is “an outstanding addition to Greater Fort Lauderdale,” said Bob Swindell, president and CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance. “Their unique corporate barter business model is a great fit for the community, creating opportunities for locals and those looking to relocate.”

“We’re excited to watch our people, company and clients grow together as we expand our presence and hire within the region. ICON is looking for the best and brightest to join our team! Located in the heart of the central business district, our new office is the perfect location for work and play,” said Upton.

ICON International was represented by Paul Marko, IV at Avison Young on its lease and the building was represented by Norm Adams of CBRE.
