Johnathan Ayers has returned to the Firm's Miami office as a Shareholder in the Construction department. Johnathan focuses his practice on advising clients in the construction industry throughout the life cycle of a construction project—from transactional issues and contract administration through litigation. He has represented owners and developers in disputes arising from real estate projects and construction agreements, including construction defect and delay claims, surety bonds, easements, insurance coverage, construction liens and warranty claims, as well as provided advice on various construction transactional matters. Johnathan also has extensive experience litigating complex construction disputes in federal and state courts, as well as in mediation and arbitration.

Johnathan is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Construction Law. With only 7% of eligible members certified, Board certification is The Florida Bar’s highest level of evaluation of a lawyer’s competence and experience in a particular area of practice.

The attorneys in our Construction group have decades of experience representing owners, developers, contractors, and design professionals in a wide variety of construction related matters including contract drafting and negotiation, financing, risk management, and litigation and dispute resolution. We actively participate in our clients' development activities from site acquisition to the conclusion of the warranty period for the finished project. Additionally, the team regularly collaborates with the Real Estate, Land Development, Zoning & Environmental, Government & Administrative and Labor & Employment groups to solve a myriad of issues ranging from regulatory issues during the construction process to responses to labor organization efforts, strikes, or Davis Bacon wage disputes.
