Driven By Philanthropy: Rita Case Establishes Fund at Community Foundation of Broward

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (October 31, 2023) – Community Foundation of Broward recognized Rita Case as a Community Builder and celebrated the establishment of the Rita & Rick Case Family Fund during a special ceremony that included a ribbon cutting and unveiling of a plaque with the couple’s portrait that now hangs on the Community Foundation’s Wall of Fame.

The Rita & Rick Case Family Fund ensures support for initiatives that have the greatest impact on children, families, education and healthcare in Broward County. Through their partnership with the Community Foundation, they are making a commitment that their legacy will continue for years to come.

“Rick and I relocated our business to Broward County 38 years ago, raised our children here and have always looked for opportunities to improve the health, education and economy of our communities, which is so important to us,” said Case. “We have a passion for charitable work and have enjoyed our philanthropy every step of the way.”

Since 1985, the Case family has had a profound influence in uplifting countless children and families in South Florida. Their philanthropy has been life-changing for residents who need an economic lift. Case has been involved with the Community Foundation of Broward serving as a board member and on the strategic planning committee.

“The Rita & Rick Case Family Fund fuels our lifetime commitment to philanthropy,” Case added. “Through this fund, our family will continue to open the door of opportunity for others, especially those who need a hand up.”

Community Builders are bold leaders who partner with the Community Foundation of Broward to establish endowed charitable funds of $1 million or more to shape a brighter future for the community they love. More than 80% of endowment assets under Community Foundation management are from the 57 Community Builders.

“Community Builders, like Rita Case and her family, prioritize giving back to the community and the place they call home,” said Community Foundation board member Kurt Zimmerman. “They stand up and invest in shaping a brighter future for our community. And for that we are eternally grateful.”
