Business for the Arts Broward Unveils Mural at Riverwalk Garage

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Business for the Arts Broward (BFA), a nonprofit 501(c)(3), unveiled a newly commissioned mural by Florida-based artists Jessica and Christian Stanley of C. Stanley Creative on display on the south facing wall of the Riverwalk Parking Garage, 150 SE 2nd Street in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

The 20-foot by 70-foot mural utilizes vibrant colors and is inspired by C. Stanley Creative’s philosophy that through collaborations with national brands and local arts organizations, public art featuring elements of nature and surrealism have the power to revitalize communities.

The artistic husband and wife duo met in 2017 and soon after formed C. Stanley Creative while painting a small electrical box as a part of a community art initiative. Since then, Christian has gone on to paint dozens of murals a year with his largest project to date spanning more than 8,000 square feet in size. He has taken his mural art talents across the United States and overseas to international street art festivals.

"This mural by C. Stanley Creative is part of our Business for the Arts public art program to curate and facilitate interior and exterior murals and sculptures," said BFA Board Chair Jarett Levan. "Artwork not only beautifies our community but also showcases the power of art to inspire and connect people. We are grateful to the artists and our generous sponsors for making this mural possible and we are excited to gift the city of Fort Lauderdale this vibrant piece of art.”

The mural was funded by BFA Art Walls; Dara and Jarett Levan Fund for the Arts at the Community Foundation of Broward; BBX Capital Fund for the Arts at the Community Foundation of Broward; Susie and Alan B. Levan Family Foundation; The Frank Family; Robyn Vegas and Juan Prieto; and the City of Fort Lauderdale. More murals are planned for the future.
