BCPS Named Academically High-Performing School District by the Florida State Board of Education
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is proud to be named an Academically High-Performing School District by the Florida State Board of Education. This designation places BCPS among an elite group – one of just 13 school districts across Florida to earn this honor for the 2024/25 school year.
The State Board of Education awards the Academically High-Performing School District distinction annually based on the following criteria:
- Student Achievement – Strong school and district grades. The 2024/25 school year marked the second consecutive year BCPS earned an overall “A” grade from the Florida Department of Education.
- Operational Excellence – Full compliance with Florida’s class size requirements.
- Fiscal Responsibility – A positive review of the District’s 2023/24 financial audit.
“We are honored to be recognized as an Academically High-Performing School District by the State Board of Education,” said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our educators, staff, students and families. It reflects our unwavering commitment to educational excellence, responsible stewardship and providing supportive learning environments for students.”
As BCPS celebrates this achievement, the District – at every level – remains focused on its mission of educating all students to reach their highest potential.
