FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (October 23, 2025) – Fort Lauderdale United FC today announced the launch of FTL Cares, a new community impact initiative dedicated to uplifting South Florida through volunteerism, youth engagement, and accessible sports experiences.
Through FTL Cares, the club will unite its players, staff, and supporters to make a measurable difference across Broward County and beyond. The initiative will include community service events, youth sporting opportunities, and a ticket donation campaign.
“FTL Cares is about showing that the heart of this club extends far beyond the pitch,” said Tommy Smith, Chairman of Fort Lauderdale United FC. “We want our players, staff, and fans to feel connected to this city not only through the game, but through the work we do together in our community.”
The program’s first year will feature a calendar of community service events, youth clinics, and charitable activations under the FTL Cares banner. Each event will focus on a different local cause, including canned food collections, toy drives, and beautification projects.
Community organizations, schools, and local nonprofits will also receive complimentary or discounted match tickets through the “FTL Assists” program, creating greater access to the sport for families and youth across the region. Both organizations and individuals can contribute to FTL Assists each home game.
FTL Cares offers flexible sponsorship opportunities that allow local and national brands to partner with individual events or causes that align with their community values. Sponsors will receive recognition across event signage, digital campaigns, and media activations, as well as the opportunity to participate in volunteer events alongside players and staff.
FTL Cares represents the next step in the club’s mission to be more than a team but rather a true community partner. The initiative will highlight the stories of local heroes and volunteers through social media and press features, shining a light on the people making a difference in South Florida.
