‘Lead with Love’ Mural Debuts at Renovated Huizenga Park Fourth Mural from Community Foundation of Broward and Business for the Arts Boward’s Collaboration with Artist Cey Adams
Fort Lauderdale, FL – Feb. 11, 2026 – The Community Foundation of Broward and Business for the Arts Broward are proud to debut a new “Lead with Love” mural, created by visionary artist Cey Adams, which is a featured attraction at the newly revitalized Huizenga Park at 32 E. Las Olas Blvd. in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
This colorful and engaging work of art is the fourth mural in collaboration between the Community Foundation, Business for the Arts Broward and Adams to create nine love-themed murals that foster inspiration, unity and leadership in communities across Broward.
Huizenga Park, an urban oasis where Las Olas Boulevard meets the New River, offers a serene yet lively destination in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. The park reopened on Jan. 24 after a $15M renovation and several years of redesign, fundraising and construction spearheaded by Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority and the Huizenga Park Foundation.
The “Lead with Love” mural project, running from fall 2024 to 2027, is a transformative public art initiative in collaboration with Adams designed to spread a message of love and unity across Broward County. Spearheaded by a partnership between the Community Foundation and Business for the Arts Broward, the goal is to use the power of the arts to enrich and unify the community and promote cultural engagement.
Supporters joined Adams to paint the finishing touches on the nearly completed mural at Huizenga Park on Dec. 12. Community Foundation President/CEO Jennifer O'Flannery Anderson, Ph.D.; representatives from Business for the Arts Broward, City of Fort Lauderdale officials and other sponsoring organizations were in attendance.
“Huizenga Park is the perfect location for my latest LOVE mural. I created a vibrant piece that hopefully brings people together and speaks to everyone,” Adams said about the mural that highlights the colors found throughout the park.
“The fourth Lead with Love mural at the newly invigorated Huizenga Park represents a powerful intersection of art and community spirit in downtown Fort Lauderdale,” said Community Foundation President/CEO Jennifer O'Flannery Anderson, Ph.D. “Through our partnership with visionary artist Cey Adams and Business for the Arts Broward, we're transforming public spaces into catalysts for positive change. By placing this vibrant artwork in this most cherished gathering place, we're creating a visual reminder that love and connection are the foundation of a thriving Broward County.”
“Public art has the power to turn shared spaces into places of connection, reflection, and pride. With our new LOVE mural at Huizenga Park, we believe we've accomplished all three,” said Jarett S. Levan, Chair of Business for the Arts Broward and President and CEO, BBX Capital CEO, IT’SUGAR.
“This LOVE mural is an invitation to come together as a community. Business for the Arts Broward (BFA) realizes that the business community plays a vital role in making moments like this possible by championing the arts, which are not a luxury but an essential driver of our economy, our quality of life, and the livability of our city. When businesses invest in the arts, they invest in a stronger, more vibrant community for everyone. BFA is proud to partner with the Community Foundation of Broward on this important initiative,” he continued.
The “Lead with Love” mural project seeks to foster a sense of unity and pride within each community by creating public art that reflects local identity and spirit. Each mural will serve as a cultural landmark, enhancing local character and providing a space for communal gathering and reflection. The murals are intended to be lasting symbols of love and cultural diversity, contributing to the artistic landscape of Broward County and fostering a deeper appreciation for art and community collaboration. Adams has tapped into the Broward County arts community and invited select artists to join him in the mural creation process.
The project’s first artwork, the “LOVE Las Olas” mural, is located on the western exterior wall of Hoffman’s Chocolates at 601 E. Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale, facing Tunnel Top Park. The second artwork, the “ONE LOVE PLANTATION” mural, is at Kingsley Park at 4680 NW 9th Court in Plantation. The third “Love” mural is located at the Dania Beach Marina, at 151 North Beach Road, Dania Beach.
The “Lead with Love” mural project is supported by various sponsors, including the Community Foundation of Broward, Business for the Arts Broward, Dara and Jarett Levan Fund for the Arts at the Community Foundation of Broward, Florida Power & Light, the BBX Capital Fund for the Arts at the Community Foundation of Broward and the Broward Cultural Division
In 2025, the Community Foundation made “Lead with Love” its motto to reflect how local philanthropy is a powerful way to show love for the community. The message also encourages more people to participate in philanthropy that uplifts Broward. “Lead with Love” highlights the role of philanthropy in creating equitable opportunities for all residents, empowering nonprofits to sustain and grow their missions, and connecting people who care to causes that matter.
