QUOTES:

  • Interim Head Coach Paul Jennison on tonight's match & the upcoming homestand...
    • "I think in terms of our performance tonight, it was honestly very good. There's certainly areas that we're going to have to talk about that we can improve, there's no doubt about that. But in terms of competition, chances created and opportunities going forward, massively improved and there are a lot of positives to take out of it. With the performance that they've put in, certainly in possession and competing defensively, we felt like we deserved something out of the game. But at this level, your second best on only five or six occasions, that can cost you. From that perspective, we've got to reflect, but in terms of the controlling the ball, in terms of the competition and the pressing higher up the field, absolutely massively improved and we have a lot of good stuff that we saw.
    • "It's good to be back at home, playing in front of the fans and in Fort Lauderdale. I know we've obviously got some tough competition coming in, but this group's not going away, and they've shown that they're just going to keep fighting and keep getting stronger. I feel like they're a group that's just not going to stop."
  • Midfielder Kelli Van Treeck on playing center back due to injuries within the squad...

"It was a new challenge. I have a lot of players around me that were talking, communicating, helping direct. I'm just willing to do whatever the team needs at whatever given moment. But I had fun doing it."
