Broward County Public Schools: Finishing Strong and Looking Ahead

As we approach the end of another remarkable school year, I am filled with pride in the accomplishments of our students, educators, staff and community, and grateful for our shared commitment to helping every student succeed.

This year, our A-rated District has continued to demonstrate excellence. We are proud to be recognized as a 2025/26 Cambridge District of the Year for our commitment to expanding access to rigorous academic options for our students. Our schools also earned 40 Merit Awards from Magnet Schools of America – prestigious distinctions that reflect the unique, high-quality learning experiences offered through our magnet programs.

We continue to see strong outcomes for our students as they earn their high school diplomas. In the most recent data available, the District’s graduation rate rose to a historic 97.5% among our traditional high schools. Each graduation represents years of hard work by students, the perseverance and support of families, and the commitment of our teachers and staff.

Beyond academics, we are focused on ensuring our students are ready for what comes next. Through our partnership with Microsoft, we have integrated artificial intelligence across the District – providing educators with enhanced tools, supporting personalized learning and expanding opportunities for students to engage in innovative, future-ready instruction.

That same focus on the future extends outside the classroom. Through our business and community partners, we are connecting students to real-world experiences and career pathways. Programs such as Claim Your Future and My Next Move, in collaboration with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, as well as the Worlds of Work (WOW) Career Expo with CareerSource Broward, help students explore high-demand careers and plan for life after high school. Students can also get a jumpstart on college through a variety of courses, including Advanced Placement and dual enrollment, that allow them to earn college credits.

Additional initiatives in career and technical education with industry certifications, financial literacy and environmental studies, among others, equip our students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in an ever-changing world.

Together, we are building a network of support that ensures every student has access to the resources needed to thrive.

As we reflect on this year, we also celebrate the many individual achievements that make our District shine. From students earning National Merit Scholarships and excelling in local, state and national competitions, to JROTC cadets being recognized for leadership and excellence, our students continue to demonstrate what is possible when talent meets opportunity.

Looking ahead, we remain focused on sustaining this momentum. We will continue to expand access to high-quality academic programs, strengthen partnerships and provide meaningful learning experiences for students. Our work is guided by a shared belief that every student can achieve, and it is strengthened by the dedication of those who serve our schools each day.

Thank you to our entire BCPS community for your unwavering commitment to our students. We are finishing this school year strong – and continuing to build a future filled with possibilities.
