BCPS to Serve Free Summer Meals for Kids 18 years and Under Through Summer BreakSpot Program

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) helps ensure children and teens have access to nutritious meals during the summer months through Florida’s Summer BreakSpot program. Beginning Monday, June 8, 2026, free breakfasts, lunches, snacks and suppers will be available at 96 BCPS school sites for all children and teens 18 years of age and younger while school is out of session.

Summer BreakSpot provides healthy meals at no cost to families, helping bridge the nutrition gap when school cafeterias are closed for summer break. No registration, application or proof of income is required.

“Broward County Public Schools is committed to supporting the health and well-being of our students and families year-round,” said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn. “Through Summer BreakSpot, we are proud to offer nutritious meals that help children stay fueled, active and ready to learn throughout the summer.”

Meal service dates, times and offerings vary by location. Meals must be consumed on-site, and service is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Families can find participating locations – in Broward County and throughout the state – as well as meal service schedules by:

The Summer BreakSpot program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered in Florida by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
