It’s a Battle of the “Bots” for BCPS Teachers

WHO:               Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Teachers and District Staff

WHAT:             Dozens of BCPS teachers are back in the classroom this summer break – only this time, they are the students. The teachers are participating in a professional development course in robotics, and as a culminating event, they will compete in a friendly robotics challenge.

As part of this course, teachers learned how to design, build and program their robots. They will bring what they learned back to their own classrooms in the new school year, engaging students in high-tech learning.

WHEN:             Thursday, June 18, 2026
11 a.m. – Noon

WHERE:           Pines Collegiate Academy 6 – 12
200 N.W. Douglas Road

Pembroke Pines, FL 33024

*Use the entrance on N.W. 2nd Street (bus loop) to access the campus.

WHY:               BCPS is a leader in offering a variety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) options for students, including robotics, drones, Artificial Intelligence, 3D printing and more. The BCPS Office of Academics, STEM + Computer Science Programs, provides educators with training, resources and support so they can be on the cutting edge of learning and bring new skills and knowledge back to their schools to enhance student learning experiences.
