FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (July 17, 2026) — More than 20 AutoNation summer interns recently welcomed teens from Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County to the company's Fort Lauderdale headquarters for an interactive Career Day designed to introduce them to a variety of career paths while helping prepare them for future success.

 AutoNation interns shared their experiences through panel discussions and Q&A sessions with Boys & Girls Clubs teens, offering guidance on high school, future planning and career exploration. The teens also met with Associates from across the company to learn about a variety of career paths

“We believe that investing in the next generation is part of how we build stronger communities,” said Linde Grindle, Chief Human Resources Officer at AutoNation. “Career Day brought together our interns and local teens to share experiences, explore future career possibilities and build meaningful connections. By creating mentorship opportunities, we hope to help local teens gain confidence, broaden their perspective and see the many paths that are available to them as they prepare for the future.”

As part of their summer experience, AutoNation interns led a panel and question-and-answer session for Boys & Girls Clubs teens on navigating high school, getting involved and planning for life after graduation. Following the career fair and lunch, teens and interns participated in AutoNation's DRV PNK "Messages of Hope" letter-writing campaign benefiting cancer patients staying at American Cancer Society Hope Lodge facilities. All teens received a backpack to take home for a fresh start to the upcoming school year.

Career Day at AutoNation is part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County’s Workforce Development Initiative, which prepares teens for their first jobs and long-term career goals. Through interactive discussions, networking opportunities and hands-on activities, participating youth gain insight into a variety of career paths while building confidence and skills for future success.

“Through our partnership with AutoNation and the support of their interns, Career Day becomes more than an event; it becomes a moment of connection and possibility for our young people at Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County,” said Dr. Nicole Melendez, Vice President of Strategy, Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County. “Watching our teens engage directly with interns who are actively navigating their own career journeys helps them see what’s achievable, ask meaningful questions and begin to envision their own paths forward.” 

Community engagement is a key component of AutoNation's summer internship program. Later this summer, AutoNation’s summer interns will also take part in a DRV PNK event benefiting Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, participate in a team build for Habitat for Humanity of Broward and lead a school supply drive for local students through the Broward Education Foundation.
