Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is ready to welcome students back for the first day of the 2026/27 school year on Monday, August 10, 2026. District schools and departments have spent the summer preparing to provide students with engaging learning experiences, safe learning environments and the support they need for a successful school year.

To mark the start of the new school year, BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn will visit schools across Broward County to welcome students, families, teachers and staff. His first-day visits will highlight the District's commitment to academic excellence, student achievement and creating positive learning environments for every student.

In addition, Dr. Hepburn will host the First Day of School News Conference at 3 p.m. on Monday, August 10, at the Kathleen C. Wright Administration Center to provide an update on the successful opening of schools and discuss District priorities for the 2026/27 school year.

The first day of school also marks the continuation of several District initiatives designed to support student success, including expanded academic opportunities, enhanced safety and security measures, innovative career and technical education programs, and services that help every student thrive.
