UKGthe AI-first Workforce Operating Platform for HR, payroll, and workforce management, today announced its latest Quarterly Platform Innovation release, introducing new AI capabilities that help HR leaders turn workforce intelligence into action across the frontline. Leveraging UKG’s intelligent platform, these innovations help address three of the hardest challenges for CHROs in frontline workforce operations: reducing administrative friction for frontline employees, hiring at scale, and paying people accurately. Together, these innovations advance UKG’s vision for AI in HCM: moving the industry beyond disconnected features to a cohesive workforce system of action.

Interactions across hiring, scheduling, pay, and workforce management create workforce context that helps organizations better understand what is happening across their workforce, anticipate change, and act with confidence. UKG Bryte™ is powered by the UKG® Workforce Operating Platform, where HR, payroll, workforce management, and AI operate on a unified foundation built for frontline execution.

“Frontline work is where strategy becomes execution, and where decisions around people, compliance, service, and trust happen in real time,” said Suresh Vittal, Chief Product Officer at UKG. “CHROs need AI that does more than inform. They need AI that uses context to orchestrate action and help people move work forward. That is what UKG has built with our Workforce Operating Platform: a system of action for the frontline.”

UKG Introduces Industry-First AI Experience Designed for Frontline Workforce Actions

Frontline employees experience work differently. A nurse, store associate, warehouse employee, or technician may be moving between locations or have only seconds between tasks. For CHROs and operations leaders, supporting the frontline means giving employees technology that works within that reality, rather than asking them to step away from work to navigate systems and screens.

With Bryte Voice, UKG introduces an industry-first voice-enabled AI experience designed for frontline workers that lets people use Siri or Google smart assistants to open UKG Pro® to ask questions, get information, and complete 12 voice actions at launch, with new actions planned for upcoming platform innovation releases. Examples include:

  • “What’s on my schedule for the rest of the week?”
  • “Where am I working today?”
  • “Who from my team is working with me today?”
  • “Is there anything wrong with my timecard?”
  • “Do I have enough vacation to take next week off?”
  • “I need to change my direct deposit.”

“Voice AI is bigger than convenience. It’s about trust in frontline work and the people doing it,” said Jason Averbook, veteran HCM analyst and Co-founder of Now to Next. “When technology lives in the flow of a nurse’s shift, a store associate’s day, or a technician’s route — instead of pulling people away from those moments — it sends a clear message: their work matters more than the interface. That’s trust. Every extra click, search, and handoff creates friction. But when tools are intentionally designed for how frontline work actually happens, confidence goes up, burden goes down, and work moves.”

UKG Uses AI to Help Recruiters Hire at Scale

UKG is advancing AI where HR leaders face some of their highest-stakes operating challenges: filling critical frontline roles and ensuring people are paid accurately. Across hiring and pay, UKG helps teams move from workforce signals to better decisions and faster action to improve staffing speed, payroll confidence, employee trust, and operational performance.

For high-volume hiring, UKG helps reduce administrative friction while keeping recruiters in control. AI-assisted job recommendations help candidates find relevant roles, while AI-generated profile summaries and bulk apply can help HR advance as many as 100 candidates through the process at a time, critical for high turnover roles or when a new location is being opened.

UKG Further Improves Pay Accuracy with Agentic AI

For payroll, UKG helps teams identify potential issues before payroll is finalized, a critical priority as payroll accuracy becomes a boardroom issue for HR and finance leaders alike. 2026 UKG research shows organizations can lose up to 4% of annual revenue to payroll errors caused by inaccurate data, manual processes, fragmented systems, and potential fraud. With agentic AI enhancements, administrators can use natural language to investigate pay activity, review pay history, and validate payroll with greater confidence, helping reduce corrections, strengthen employee trust, and protect accurate, timely pay.
