SFBJ: Fort Lauderdale boat show to debut yacht conference in 2027

The Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF) plans to introduce a two-day conference and expo dedicated to the yacht refit industry during the 2027 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS).

The event, called RefitX, is scheduled for Oct. 27-28, 2027, in the newly constructed Atlantic Ballroom at the Broward County Convention Center.

As a business-to-business event, RefitX will bring together shipyards, designers, engineers, manufacturers, technology providers and other marine professionals to address challenges and developments in yacht repair and modernization.

Informa Markets, which produces the boat show, plans to introduce elements of RefitX during the 2026 event later this month before the conference's full debut the following year.

MIASF, which owns the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, represents more than 500 members across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. According to the association, the regional marine industry supports approximately 142,000 jobs and generates $18.5 billion in economic output.

The five-day Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show attracted more than 100,000 attendees in 2025 and generates an estimated $1.78 billion in statewide economic impact, according to organizers.
